PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS' July Store update brought Deston, BP Charms, and summer skins in one massive patch.

Ask any longtime PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS player what the summer of 2022 felt like, and two things usually come up: a brand-new map called Deston, and the odd, unexpected joy of buying weapon charms with Battle Points. The July Store update was one of those rare patches that touched nearly every corner of the game at once — a fresh battleground, a Survivor Pass to grind, a pile of summer cosmetics, two Partner merch drops, a collaborative emote, new weapon skins, the return of Your Shop, and the long-awaited arrival of BP Charms. Looking back from 2026, it still reads like a blueprint for how much a single monthly update could carry.

🌴 Deston Lands, and the Survivor Pass Follows

The headline was never really in doubt. Deston, the map players had been waiting for, finally arrived on live servers, inviting everyone to dive down, crack missions, and chase rewards across an entirely new landscape.

Two passes were on offer for anyone who wanted to look the part while exploring:

  • SURVIVOR PASS: DESTON WEAPON & LEVEL PACK — 3,270 G-COIN

  • SURVIVOR PASS: DESTON WEAPON PACK — 990 G-COIN

The pass window ran from July 12 (after live server maintenance) through September 6 on PC, with console players getting their own slightly shifted schedule starting July 20. Nothing unusual there — just the familiar rhythm of a new map and a new grind.

🎒 Charms Finally Went Free-to-Grind

Here's the part that genuinely changed how players spent their BP. Charms — previously a G-COIN-only cosmetic — became purchasable with Battle Points, and the pricing was refreshingly tiered.

Price Charms
4,000 BP Fragged, Metal Head, Lucky Charm, PlayerPugknown, Level 4 Armor
8,000 BP The Key, Best Buds, Aviator, Strongman, Vikendi Sword
12,000 BP Care Package, Wing It, Lone Survivor, Knee Splitter, Dead Weight, Boxing Glove, MiniUnknown, Fanboy, Dino Park, Paradise Resort

Unlike most Store rotations, these had no end date. For a community that had spent years hoarding BP with nothing meaningful to spend it on, that was a quiet but significant quality-of-life win.

🔫 The AUG Value Pack and Gold Leaf Elegance

A dedicated AUG Value Pack arrived for players who wanted their favorite rifle to look as fierce as it performed, complete with bonus G-COIN to sweeten the deal.

Alongside it, the Gold Leaf series dressed up the M416 and Kar98k in something a little more refined — less tactical, more trophy case. Both ran deep into the fall, closing out around October 30.

👙 Summer Fashion, Underwater Edition

"Shouldn't we all be fashionable even underwater?" was essentially the pitch, and honestly, it worked. The summer drop leaned hard into bright, breezy looks.

  • Elegant Summer Romper Set — 1,290 G-COIN

  • Summer Floral Gown Set — 1,290 G-COIN

  • Summer Button-up Set — 700 G-COIN

  • Summer Backpack Bundle — 1,000 G-COIN

  • Individual backpacks (Levels 1–3) — 500 G-COIN each

  • Victory Dance 90 & 91 emotes — 500 G-COIN each

Sets and individual items ran from mid-July to late August, while the two emotes stuck around for six months.

🎵 Bali Bandits, Chiawei1031, and Pigff

A collaborative emote with the musical group Bali Bandits gave players a different kind of groove, staying in the Store until mid-October.

Two Partner drops followed later in the month. Chiawei1031 brought a floaty, space-adjacent aesthetic with a hoodie, sweatpants, and an SCAR-L skin.

Pigff, meanwhile, went full cartoon hero with a red piglet onesie and a matching DBS — 1,000 and 990 G-COIN respectively.

🛒 Your Shop Returned, and Others Said Goodbye

Your Shop came back with deeper discounts, running July 26 to August 16 on PC. But the flip side of any Store update is the exit door.

Leaving the Store that month were the BP Random Crates on PC (gone July 12), plus a long list of Partner cosmetics:

  • RASH BeiXi — Mega Bundle, Hoodie Set, Lion Costume, Backpack Set, Weapon Set (ended July 12 on PC)

  • SHAKA — Onesie and SCAR-L (ended July 21)

  • 10000DAYS — Top, Shorts, and SCAR-L (ended July 21)

  • KimBlue — Onesie and Pan (ended July 26)

  • Four Nameplates — Bullet Time, Game Over Man, Illupanati, and Showdown — also wrapped up in late July

As always, the fine print reminded everyone that these items could resurface later through the Workshop, Your Shop, or special events.

🧭 Why It Still Matters

From a 2026 perspective, the July 2022 update looks less like a random monthly drop and more like a turning point. It proved that cosmetics didn't have to be purely monetized, that a new map could anchor an entire season of content, and that Partner merch could carry real personality. Players who were there still remember grinding BP for a Dino Park charm — and honestly, that might be the most nostalgic detail of all.
